If you like the idea of helping others by promoting safety within your community, you might consider a career as a public safety coordinator. Public safety requires careful planning and coordination. While police officers walk the streets keeping us safe, public safety coordinators work behind the scenes to make sure everyone is as safe as possible while they do their jobs, go to school, or go about their business.

Public safety coordinators conduct safety and training programs and develop materials for schools, after school programs, and other interested parties. They also work with medical facilities, manufacturers, and government officials to ensure the safety of both workers and the general public. A big part of their job involves keeping the public informed and educating them about safety-related topics.

In this project, you will work in a group to plan a safety fair for your community. The purpose of the fair will be to teach people about various important safety topics. You will need to decide where to hold the fair and how to get people to attend. Your job will be to plan the best possible event within a specific budget.
